Sage brings some 180+ years of combined business experience to its work with Fortune 100 organizations as well as domestic small and medium-sized enterprises across a range of industries and geographies. They collaborate with board officers and the senior executives of multinational corporations as well as with the owners and operators of privately or family-held entities.
Having completed more than 60 acquisitions for clients valued in excess of $15B, Sage team members are experts in value development, change leadership and business transformation solutions. They support business owners, their Boards and other stakeholders in solving the most complex competitive challenges to ignite growth and accelerate value. Sage helps drive organic or M&A-led corporate growth, post merger integration, optimized liquidity event planning and execution, asset optimization and a host of other organizational change initiatives to enhance value.
Sage is particularly skilled at working with firms whose enterprise take-out valuation is less than required or desired. Collaborating with the SIP team and a client’s leadership, Sage helps diagnose and close gaps by devising strategies that improve the alignment of substantiated business value with the desired market response. Among its many distinctions, the Sage team has been a featured speaker with the MIT Enterprise Forum. Highlights of Sage client engagements include a strategy for CBRE regarding their acquisition of Johnson Controls; a pre-acquisition valuation methodology for Con Agra; an out-year valuation methodology for Broadridge Financial Solutions; and a multiple flash storage and enterprise software acquisitions strategy for SanDisk.

Sage Managing Principals: Dana Green and John Wong

Dana Green has more than 30 years of experience with with leadership roles that include M&A Director at Microsoft – where he created a new post-close acquisition integration model that became the standard by which future Microsoft acquisitions and partnerships were addressed. He held leadership responsibilities with several noteworthy ventures, such as the creation of MSN, the founding of Expedia (from concept through buildup, spinout and IPO) and the establishment of MSNBC. In addition, he led key aspects of 44 corporate acquisitions valued at over $8 billion. Dana was a partner with Dr. John Kotter, Harvard Business School Professor, best-selling author and architect of the widely acclaimed 8-Step Change methodology. He was a senior manager at Boeing, and has been a V.P. at Jump Associates and Sipi Metals Corporation in addition to Senior Partner for Morgan Samuels. Dana is an Adjunct Professor at the Hult International Business School and earned a B.A. from Seattle Pacific University, having also completed MBA coursework at the American Graduate University.

With over 30 years of experience in line management and business strategy consulting, John Wong is an expert in new product development, new ventures, brand rejuvenation, accelerated merger integration and business turnarounds – whether they involve early stage companies or large company divisions. An analytical thinker and creative visionary, John is recognized for developing exceptional business results by driving program design and execution through the lens of the customer’s world view. He has held brand management positions with such Fortune 500 leaders as General Mills, Coca-Cola and The Pillsbury Company as well as senior executive positions with Information Resources Inc., Coopers & Lybrand and venture-backed start-ups. As a consultant, his experience runs the gamut – from technology and entertainment to biopharma and consumer packaged goods. Clients include Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, F5 Networks, Starbucks, VISA, Facebook, Audi, New Balance and Universal Studios. John earned an M.B.A. from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth and a B.A. from the University of Puget Sound. He also is an investor and advisor with venture capital fund TGap.
